Driver of KIA Collides with City Marshal

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Two drivers, including a city marshal, suffered injury this morning after a crash at the intersection of Webster and N. Van Buren.

San Angelo Police Officer Brian Bylsma said he was dispatched to the crash. While en route, Bylsma said he was told it was a major crash involving injuries, and that a City Marshal’s vehicle was involved.

“The investigation reveals that there were two drivers,” said Bylsma. “The driver of the red KIA Soul was southbound on Van Buren, disregarded the stop sign and collided with the City Marshal’s vehicle.”

The driver of the Soul, James Guynem, was transported to Shannon Medical Center with injuries, a laceration to the head.

The City Marshal, Tom Taylor, will also be going to the hospital by private vehicle.

“He’s complaining of minor injuries,” said Bylsma. Because of city protocol, Taylor is going to get checked, Bylsma noted.

The driver of the KIA will be issued a citation for disregarding a stop sign.
