Woman Hit by Runnels County Commissioner Dies from Wounds

BALLINGER, TX - On Sept. 11, 2016, Precinct 4 Runnels County Commissioner Richard Strube struck Kelly Wyatt in the parking lot at Walmart in Ballinger with his vehicle.

Wyatt was transported to Shannon Hospital at the time, and as of Sept. 14, reports indicated there were still no updates on Wyatt's condition.

However, today, an anonymous source close to the family confirmed that Wyatt died from her injuries. She was pulled from life support yesterday, the source said. The source added that doctors could not stop internal bleeding.

According to reports, Commissioner Strube was driving in a county pickup through the parking lot. A vehicle in front of him stopped, so he reversed the pickup to go around it. However, Strube struck Wyatt, who was walking behind the truck, in the process.

The source told LIVE! that the Texas Rangers are now investigating the crash.
