One Driver Dies/Four People Injured in Coleman County Crash

 

Yesterday afternoon, one driver lost his life, and four other people suffered injuries in a Coleman County crash.

According to DPS, Gregorio Flores, 37, of Coleman, was traveling south at about 12:45 p.m. in a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup on US 84, about 1.3 miles north of Santa Anna in Coleman County. At the same time, Harrison Shields McClure, 22, of Austin was traveling north in a 2009 Nissan Altima. Flores lost control of his pickup on the wet roadway, went into a side skid across the highway and struck McClure’s vehicle.

McClure was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in the vehicle, Kristina Laurena Watkins, 19, of San Antonio, suffered serious incapacitating injuries. McClure’s body was taken to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman, and Watkins went to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. They both wore their seat belts.

Flores suffered non-incapacitating injuries. Additionally, two children in his vehicle, Logan Flores, 8, and Corbin Rivers, 2, both of Coleman, suffered non-incapacitating injuries. They all went to Coleman County Medical Center. They all wore their seat belts at the time of the crash as well.

The crash is currently investigation.
