Driver Waited for the Light to Turn Green and Then BAM!

A woman is in the hospital with neck and back pain after San Angelo police said she ran a red light and crashed into a minivan turning onto Knickerbocker Rd. at Southland Blvd.

The white Chrysler Town & Country was patiently waiting at the red light on Southland to turn left and north into town, police said. When the light turned green, the driver proceeded into the intersection.

Meanwhile, barreling southbound on Knickerbocker was the driver of a blue Dodge Dakota. She disregarded the red light and crashed into the minivan.

Police said the driver of the Dakota will be cited for disregarding a red light as soon as they visit her in the hospital.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. today.
