An Early Resident Killed in Fatal Car Crash on US 67

Just before noon this morning, an Early woman was killed in a fatal crash on US 67, about 2.5 miles east of Comanche.

According to a Department of Public Safety report, the driver of a 2013 Mack truck tractor pulling a semi-trailer, James Luther Morrow, 52, of Cleburne was traveling west on US 67, about 2.5 miles east of Comanche, followed by the driver of a 2001 Toyota passenger vehicle, Carla Lee Willis, 33, of Stephenville. At the same time, Amber Diane Corley, 30, of Early was traveling eastbound on US 67 in a 2015 Ford passenger vehicle. Corley veered into eastbound oncoming traffic and crashed into the truck tractor, and the Toyota sustained damage from the debris, said DPS officials.

Corley was pronounced dead while Morrow suffered no reported injuries. Willis’ injuries were unknown at the time of this report.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
