San Angelo Highway Sign Plowed Over in Lunchtime Crash

A highway sign was demolished after a lady driving a blue SUV ran a little white car off S. Abe St. while she attempted to turn onto W. Beauregard Ave., San Angelo police said.

Both the SUV and the white car were southbound on Abe. The white car was in the inside (eastern-most) lane and the SUV was a lane to the white car’s right.

The driver of the blue SUV attempted to make a left hand turn onto Beauregard from a middle lane. The SUV hit the white car and the white car ran off the road, and plowed into a TxDOT highway sign.

The SUV driver was given a citation for making a turn from the incorrect lane.

No one was injured, police said. The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
