Three Children Rescued in Rollover Crash on U.S. 87 Near March Road

Three children were rescued and rushed to Shannon Medical Center late this afternoon after the white Chevrolet Tahoe they were riding in flipped over into the median of U.S. 87 near March Road north of San Angelo.

Texas DPS is investigating the crash. They said the Tahoe’s five occupants were rushed to Shannon in three ambulances. DPS reported that the children were responsive when they were taken from the scene.

The rollover was caused when the Tahoe crossed a bridge that was iced-over and the ice caused the SUV to slide out-of-control. The Tahoe came to a final rest upside down in the center median. DPS could not confirm if the children were ejected from the vehicle, though EMS was told over the scanner that the children were trapped underneath the SUV.

The DPS investigation is not complete. We will update this story when more information is available.
