Tractor Parts and Cow Feed Litter Crash Scene of Rollover Crash on US 67 North

A red Ford F-150 pickup full of cow pellets rolled over in a crash, spilling the precious cargo and trapping the driver. The crash happened on US 67 north, near the Rainey Rd. intersection, at approximately 3:50 p.m. Quail Valley VFD led the effort with assistance from San Angelo Fire Rescue to extract the farmer from the front windshield, because the truck came to a rest on the side with the driver’s door.

According to the DPS, the driver of the Ford F-150 was traveling below the posted speed limit, but not at an unusually slow speed. Meanwhile, a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a front grill guard of a substantial size was traveling at or near the speed limit behind the Ford. The Chevrolet hit the Ford squarely from behind, sending the Ford into the southern barrow ditch, and rolling.

The male driver for the Ford was 90-years-old, and likely a rancher returning from town with feed for his cattle and parts for his John Deere farm implements. Quail Valley VFD assisted the driver in retrieving green and yellow parts from the path of the crash.

Despite the violence of the crash, the elder rancher was in good spirits and in good health.

DPS issued the driver of the black Chevy pickup a citation for failure to control speed.

There were no injuries.
