Truck Headed for Oil Field Crashes Just off the Houston-Harte Expressway

A truck tractor pulling a semi-trailer bound for the oil field lost control on the Houston-Harte Expressway Tuesday evening.

The driver told police that he lost all power to his steering and brakes while attempting to exit the roadway. The truck veered through a guardrail into the ditch between the service road and the expressway and then rolled back down.

At this point, no citations will be issued. Police believe it was mechanical failure.

Police said that the driver handled the situation well by preventing the truck from re-entering the expressway. The driver was transported to Shannon with unknown injuries.
