Timeclock Plus Saves Taxpayers $42,000

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County Commissioners received good financial news Tuesday as Timeclock Plus agreed to upgrade the county’s employee time tracking software.

According Justin Thornton with the county, Timeclock Plus didn’t inform the county during budget hearings over the summer that their current version of the software would not be supported after January 1, 2018.  The cost of the upgrade at the time was $50,000.  Commissioners did not budget for the upgrade thinking their current software would still be workable.

After it was discovered that the software would no longer be supported, representatives from the county and Timeclock Plus negotiated a deal in which Timeclock Plus would give the county the upgrade for free and the county would only have to pay for the cost of converting from the current version to the upgraded software.  Instead of $50,000, the cost was just a little over $6,000.

Commissioners also accepted 2.66 miles of additional paved roads for maintenance.  Stonewall Reserve homeowners in Precinct 2 agreed to pay the county $66,250 for future maintenance on the roadways while the landowners will maintain the barrow ditches and mowing.  The agreement is a normal arrangement for accepting roads for county maintenance.

In other business, commissioners took no action on the burn ban and took no action following an executive session.

H-E-B also provided a cake for the commissioners court and attendees Tuesday morning.
