Man Arrested for Silent Abusive 911 Calls Monday

 

Twenty-five individuals were put behind bars on Monday, one of which was charged with making silent abusive calls to 911, one alleged to have stolen a car, and one who was busted littering.

Assault and public intoxication accounted for the highest number of arrests at four apiece, while theft brought in three and forgery accounted for an additional two. 

Monday also saw two evading arrest charges among the new temporary residents of the Tom Green County Jail, as well as two marijuana and two DWI charges.

Thirty-three inmates were released from the jail.

SILENT OR ABUSIVE CALLS TO 9-1-1 SERVICE (b) A person commits an offense if the person makes a telephone call to 9-1-1 when there is not an emergency and knowingly or intentionally: (1) remains silent; or (2) makes abusive or harassing statements to a PSAP employee. (c) A person commits an offense if the person knowingly permits a telephone under the person’s control to be used by another person in a manner described in Subsection (b). (d) An offense under this section is a Class B misdemeanor I believe the word "or" is missing....What say you Emeritus? Or, perhaps, the individual was silently abusive when calling...a bad case of passive aggressive behavior.
