Crash on Ave. N and Austin

There were minor injuries at 6:40 p.m. when a white van crashed into a black Honda Civic.

The white van was traveling westbound on Ave. N approaching Austin St. when it attempted to avert a crash with a black Honda Civic. The Civic was headed eastbound on Ave. N.

The van was driving in the outside lane alongside a black SUV. Authorities say that the SUV was "somewhat" in the way when the black Honda Civic attempted to make a left turn from the inside lane.

The Civic failed to yield the right-of-way and was struck by the white van on the back passenger side.

Both drivers attempted evasive action. The Honda Civic apparenly sped up to avoid the crash while the white van attempted to change lanes. Niether driver was successful. 

The driver of the Honda was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way and transported to a hospital by a personal vehicle. There were no major injuries.
