Proclamations from City Council Recognize Local Events

Lee Pfluger received a formal proclamation, declaring this coming Saturday as “Concho Christmas Celebration Day,” in light of the numerous annual events to be hosted on Saturday, namely the Christmas parade and community tree lighting ceremony.

Pfluger thanked the Mayor, Council and public for the proclamation, stating that the events offer the community opportunities to come together and share the holiday spirit and take part in tradition.

“Secondly, It’s an economic driver for the city…we appreciate the support from our city, and the volunteers, we have over 400 volunteers,” Pfluger said.

Carl White received congratulations for his work on Riverfest, which took place in October.  “It was a great honor getting to work with all of these folks…we had a great time. Thanks go out to the community for attending the event and supporting the event,” White said, having called the planning crew up for congratulations.

Riverfest was a weekend event held for the first time this year on a Friday and Saturday, which featured live music, a color run, games and other activities in celebration of projects being completed on the riverfront.

The City hopes to make it an annual event.
