Olive's Nursery Celebrates 75 Years

SAN ANGELO, TX – This month, Olive’s Nursery celebrated a very special milestone, 75 years of serving the community of San Angelo. Tommy Olive is the third generation to manage the nursery and has seen it grow over the decades. The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce held a special ribbon cutting last Friday to celebrate the milestone.

The business was started by Tommy Olive's grandfather in the 1940’s. Under the Olive family's care, Olive's Nursery has prospered into a successful and diverse business that offers a wide selection of items. Shoppers have the opportunity to view a variety of different plants, decorative flower pots, and an extensive collection of decorations, sure to appeal to a large selection of customers.

West Texas terrain can make it difficult to cultivate certain plants and trees, but with the help the knowledgeable staff at Olive’s Nursery customers will find the perfect fit. Even though Olive began his career in a different field, he discovered his love for organic gardening and never looked back. This is one of the reasons he believes his family’s business has been able to prosper for so many years.

“[It’s about] loving what you do and loving people.” Olive said.
