Eldorado Honors Fallen Border Patrol Agent

ELDORADO-- Eldorado honored a fallen hero and Border Patrol Officer with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection this morning. Border Patrol Officers packed the Eldorado High School Gym early this morning at 8 a.m. for a memorial service.

Border Patrol Agent Tyler R. Robledo was killed in a two-vehicle collision, while on duty near Carrizo Springs early the morning of Sept. 12, which resulted in the deaths of both drivers.

“I am deeply saddened by the death of Border Patrol Agent Tyler R. Robledo. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Robledo during this difficult time,” stated Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch.

Agent Robledo, 34, of the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station was involved in a head-on collision with a 2009 Dodge sedan while on patrol on FM 2644 at approximately 1:16 a.m. Agent Robledo suffered traumatic injuries and was airlifted to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later succumbed to the injuries during surgery. The sole occupant of the 2009 Dodge sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Agent Robledo was a three-year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol and leaves behind his wife and two young children.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
