Soldier from San Angelo Found Dead at Fort Bragg

 

FORT BRAGG, N.C. – Pvt. 1st Class Darrell Robinson of San Angelo, Texas was found deceased on post due to unknown causes on August 31.

The incident is currently under investigation by Special Agents from the US Army Criminal Investigation Command.

Pvt. 1st Class Robinson, 23, was a military policeman in the 550th Military Working Dog, 42nd Military Police Detachment, 503rd Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade.

“We are deeply saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss of our Soldier,” said Lt. Col. Caroline K.M. Horton, Robinson’s battalion commander. “We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Pvt. 1st Class Robinson.”

Robinson joined the Army in May 2013 and completed one station unit training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He was assigned to the 16th Military Police Brigade in April 2014.

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
