Suspected Hit-and-Run Work Truck Flees Three-Vehicle Crash on North Chadbourne

San Angelo police are searching for a heavy-duty white pickup that they suspect was involved in a three-vehicle crash on the side of Hildago’s Mexican Restaurant at North Chadbourne Street and 14th Street. Fire, rescue and police responded to the crash at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Two vehicles, an older model red Chevrolet C1500 pickup and a late model gray sedan, are crashed and block 14th Street both ways.

According to witnesses on the scene, a white heavy-duty pickup fled the scene, but two other cars (pictured) involved in the crash are disabled due to the crash.

The truck was last seen driving south on Chadbourne.

Update 5:04 p.m.

The red pickup was waiting at the light facing east on 14th Street and the gray Chrysler sedan was travelling southbound on Chadbourne and was attempting to turn right onto 14th. According to the police investigator, a white, possibly Chevrolet, work truck with a black grill guard crashed into the rear of the right-turning Chrysler, propelling the Chrysler into the red pickup.

The white work truck fled the scene and police are attempting to locate the driver.

No one was injured. However, the driver of the Chrysler said he will likely go to the hospital on his own to get checked out.

The crash scene was cleared as of 5 p.m. and 14th Street is back to normal.

A logical possibility is the truck belongs to one of grape creek's fine residents. There is probably a post on the perpetrators facebook about it already.
