Our street is west of GAFB. Several houses have roof damage from shingles blown off and damage to trees.
All we got was lots of wind and falling branches just off of college hills close to HEB.
A large mesquite tree split down the middle in my backyard and whiffed the house. I also saw a roof peel off of a commercial storage building behind my house. Lot's of sticks, trash, and other debris all over the roads. We still have power on Colorado St. The weather station at the Goodyear Proving Grounds reported a wind gust high of 62 mph @ 8:45 PM. It is also reporting 1.10" of rain for today. I got about 0.1" of dust in my rain gauge in Santa Rita..... Was Doppler Radar on the fritz when the storm came through? Hope no one was seriously injured.

I watched the roof blow straight up off the house across the street and blow across the neighborhood. Lots of broke trees and roof shingles blown off. Thankful to God no one was hurt.
Extensive Tree and Power line damage around Ethicon Site. 1/4 to 1/2 mile of power lines down, shutting off power to Ethicon. AEP continues working to restore power, Road is closed from Smith blvd. to Pulliam street ramp due to power line work.
I had sprinkles on Blumentritt Rd and walked out to look at the clouds. I could see the wall of dirt coming across the farmland from the north. When it hit, there was zero visibility for about 10 mins. All you farmers and landowners north of me are welcome to come get your dirt back. Just back your tailgate right up to the north side of everything I own, and sweep it down into the bed... I guess I'll keep what's in the house since my wife so intelligently opened the front door (also north) to see how bad it was.
I know there was a Tornado out in Grape Creek, but what about San Angelo? I saw lots of pics, like the one about with the trailer in it, and a video, but to me it just doesn't look like a tornado. No funnel cloud in the one with the trailer. I blew it up as big as I could and to me it just looks like dust blowing from high winds. The clouds don't even ooh as if they are attempting to make a funnel cloud. Looks like to me that it just happens to be the angle at which the photo was taken and it just happens to look like it might be a tornado. Were there any confirmed tornados in San Angelo or were they just reported by the public?
From gosangelo.com: UPDATE: The National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down in San Angelo during Wednesday night's storms. Mike Johnson, senior forecaster with the San Angelo NWS, said the two tornadoes were the weakest kind, rating a zero on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. EF0 tornadoes range in wind speed from 65 to 85 mph. Johnson said the tornadoes affected the PaulAnn Subdivision and at Farm to Market Road 388 and Loop 306 just east of Goodfellow Air Force Base. We have been issued a tornado watch in effect until midnight tonight.
Wind, lots of mud and very little rain affected most of the city. Those who had minor and major damage our heart goes out to you. There are some things that don't make a lot sense: 1. NOAA off the air, 2. both CBS and NBC didn't break in and warn us of the oncoming danger and 3. these two stations don't have any back up system to keep all of us informed. I have never been able how two network stations have the same building as a broadcasting site. Storms here seem to go across the north end of the city causing these two stations to go off the air.You always know that a problem is going on when both stations are airing the same program normally a Mormon presentation. A number of people didn't hear the sirens go off, we live behind Community Hospital and the siren was very loud. Can't say much for the network stations. Thank goodness for Live.com.
We live a mile north of the station heard no sirens. With in seconds off seeing what looked like heavy rain there was circular winds and debris outside our garage. It turned our RV over on our 2014 KIA. Ripped off the front part of our roof as well as bent steel beams on our porch.
