SAPD: Hit and Run Driver Still at Large, Victim Transported to Dallas Hospital

The San Angelo Police Department is still seeking information on the driver of a white or tan truck towing an old tractor on a rusty trailer that hit a woman and dragged her over 500 feet yesterday morning at Knickerbocker Road and Bentwood

The woman is reported to have climbed out of her vehicle at the stoplight of those two streets to knock on the truck ahead of them, which had just hit them when switching lanes.

The driver then took off, but the victim was caught up on the vehicle and was dragged until she came free, then was run over by the trailer. She has since been transported to Dallas for surgery.

Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a white or cream-colored pickup truck, possibly extended cab or 4-door, towing a rust-colored trailer with a rust-colored tractor.  The truck was last seen traveling southwest towards Lake Nasworthy.

If you have information about the suspect’s location or identity, please call the Hit and Run Investigator, Steven Quade, at 325-6574253.   To remain anonymous, call the SAPD’s 24 hour Tip Hotline at 1-855-TIPS-247.  You can also text your tips, text TIP SAPD followed by your message, to 888777.  You can submit Tips online at http://local.nixle.com/tip/san-ange…

Tv news very misleading. Said "a rust colored truck towing an rust-colored trailer" real helpful. Not. Thanks for clarifying. How no one on the scene managed to get a license number is puzzling. Don't confront, get a license number.
