Scott & White Health Plan Shutters San Angelo Branch

Scott & White Healthcare shuttered its San Angelo office Thursday, laying off four employees.

Scott & White was recently acquired by Baylor Health Care System and this move most likely is a consolidation of its operations.

Scott & White was an active Chamber of Commerce participant, sponsoring Tuesday’s monthly luncheon.

The health insurance industry has been in turmoil due to the inauguration of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. With the merger with Baylor, Scott & White decided that San Angelo wasn’t worth the trouble.
