Crown Vic Backs Into Light Pole Downtown

An elderly woman has backed her silver Ford Crown Victoria into a light pole in front of the Cactus Hotel.

Cause of the crash was explained by SAPD saying that she was pressing on the accelerator thinking it was the brake and when the car wouldn’t stop she continued to press the accelerator, crashing into the light pole.

The woman has a minor scrape to her head and EMS are attending to her now along with SAPD, Fire Department, and City Marshall.

Oakes St. is down to one lane at the intersection of Twohig Ave. due to emergency vehicles blocking traffic.

Doctor Dungbat -- making fun of old ladies is about as low as you can get. Remind me when and if you're lucky enough to be called "old" and we'll talk then.
