Nancy Jane Allison went to be with her Lord on August 15, 2017. Services for her will be on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas. Interment will be at 4:15 PM in Sutton County Cemetery immediately following the service.
Nancy Jane Allison was born on August 18, 1926 in Commerce, Texas to Harry Gordon Long and Nancy “Nannie” Bess Long.
Nancy had two brothers, John G. Long and Harry Long. Both preceded her in death. Nancy has one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Cody of Garland, Texas.
Nancy graduated from East Texas State Teacher’s College, caught the A train to Sonora to start teaching first grade in 1947. Nancy taught her students the “3-R’s” and they taught her to sing “Strawberry Roan”.
Nancy met Reggie Trainer at the Sonora Post Office. They were married July 19, 1947 until his death on October 5, 1965. They had two children, Harry James Trainer and Regina Ann Sledge. Nancy was then married to Sam Houston Allison on August 3, 1967 until his death in 1982.
Nancy loved traveling, reading and being a good friend.
Nancy attended Southland Baptist Church.
Nancy is survived by her son, Harry and his wife Cindy; her daughter, Regina and her husband Kenneth; her granddaughter, Morgan Trainer Chegwidden and her husband Jason; and her extended family of Allisons, Longs, Codys, Powers, Trainers and friends.
