Jeannine was born January 29, 1931 to Johnny and Hallie Banta in Woody, Texas.
She graduated from Hardin Simmons and worked for Tide Water Oil Company in Midland, TX. Jeannine met the love of her life Donald McKee and they were married July 4, 1953. She worked at Webb Air Force Base until she had her first son Donald McKee, Jr and then started her career as a mom, homemaker and wife. She loved her family dearly and instilled in all three of her children a strong belief in God, to be independent and that they could do anything they set their mind to. She gave all her children confidence and stressed the importance to always follow the golden rule. After Don died in 2007 she moved to San Angelo and lived at the Baptist Memorial Retirement Center. “Jeanie” as her fellow residents called her loved to talk and was genuinely interested in the happenings and goings on of each of her friends. She always had a smile on her face and a helping hand available.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents John and Hallie Banta, her husband Donald W. McKee, Sr., 2 brothers Pid Banta and his wife Yvonne, and Kenneth Banta and his wife Marmalee and brother in law Ernest Moore.
