San Angelo Lions Charities Open House
The San Angelo Lions Charities will be hosting an open house Saturday, December 9, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Lions Eye Glasses Recycling Center, 25 W. Concho to showcase specially designed cycles for persons with disabilities.
The Lions Charities received several local grants, to include grants from the Health Foundation and Area Foundation to purchase these adaptive cycles that can be propelled using arms with push/pull or rotation motions whichever suits the rider best.
There is no age limit and recipients are able to use the cycles for life, but are requested to return them when no longer needed so others can benefit from the program.
The program’s goal is help those with disabilities get exercise outdoors in order to improve their lives with all the benefits exercise brings such as better physical and mental health.
