High-Speed Crash Mangles Pickups in Front of Retirement Community

SAN ANGELO, TX - A crash near Rio Concho West sent one person to the hospital this Friday morning.

It happened at the intersection of FM2288 and Appaloosa Circle around 10 a.m.

The victim's vehicle was a black GMC Denali 2500. The driver was traveling on FM2288 at about the 3300 block, police said.

The other vehicle, a white Ford pickup, was trying to make a left-hand turn from FM2288 to Appaloosa into Rio Concho West but failed to yield the right of way, making a left-hand turn. This led to the crash.

The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital and wasn’t able to give police any information.

It’s unclear how severe the injuries are, but the ambulance left without lights or sirens, indicating they were minor.

The police investigator said he needed to speak with the driver before any citations were issued.

But he also said that it does appear that a citation will be issued for failure to yield the right to make a left-hand turn.
