Standard Conservation in Effect — San Angelo is in standard conservation, which restricts outside watering to twice every seven days at no more than one inch per week from April 1 through Oct. 31. Watering is prohibited between the hours of noon and 6 p.m. during these months. Runoff of more than 150 feet down any street, gutter, alley or ditch is also prohibited. More instructions are at the City of San Angelo.

Police Chief Candidate Mike Hernandez Leads Campaign Finance Contest

SAN ANGELO, TX — For the 2024 police chief election campaigns, Mike Hernandez has broken the ceiling of $61,000. To put this into perspective, in the last county-wide election, it was for County Court at Law #2 judge, the top fundraiser was Andrew Graves who raised $54,171.30 by a month prior to election day for his campaign for the Republican Primary Election in March 2022. Graves won the election narrowly against Leland Lacy.

Supreme Court Declines Texas Democrats Case Challenging Mail-In Voting Laws

Under Texas law, eligible voters are required to cast their ballots in person unless they meet specific exceptions, including being 65 years of age or older, disabled, out of the county during elections, about to give birth, or confined in jail. The case, initially backed by the Texas Democratic Party in 2020, alleged that such restrictions were unconstitutional as they discriminated against voters under the age of 65.
